National Archeological Museum

The National Archaeological Museum is one of the most important museums of ancient Greek art in the world.
The collections list more than 11,000 artifacts and provide a panorama of Greek civilization from prehistory to antiquity.
Permanent and temporary collections are exhibited such as prehistoric finds, sculpture, metalwork, pottery, miniatures and frescoes from Santorini.

Museum of Acropolis

The New Acropolis Museum opened its doors in 2009. Hosts the findings of the Acropolis Archaeological site , covering a period from the Mycenaean period to the Roman and early Christian Athens.

It houses over 4000 exhibits significant parts of the pediments of the Parthenon and the Caryatids.
The architectural design belongs to Bernard Tschumi and combines three concepts: light, movement and architectural planning.

Benaki Museum

The Benaki Museum is one of the most important Museums of Greece and presents through the 40,000 works the history of the Greek world:  Antiquity-Roman Empire - Byzantium & Fall of Constantinople - Frankish and Ottoman occupation - Independence 1821 – formation of New Greek state and finally Asia Minor disaster of 1922.

Byzantine and Christian Museum

The Byzantine and Christian Museum is one of the most important internationally in the field of art and culture of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine period.
Hosts  25.000 objects such as sculptures, miniatures, paintings, ceramics, mosaics, fabrics, manuscripts  dating  from the 4th to the 19th century.

Epigraphic Museum

The Epigraphic Museum is unique in Greece and the largest of its kind in the world. In this museum 13.536 inscriptions are hosted ,engraved either in marble or stone, covering the period from early historical times to the early Christian.
The museum is housed in the south wing of the ground floor of the building of the National Archaeological Museum.

Hellenic Motor Museum

Museum dedicated to technology and car development. The collection consists of 294 cars dating from 1895 to 1980.
Hosted unique specimens of the world automobile such as:
Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing of Paul Newman, Chrysler Imperial built in 1959 belonged to Robert Plant, a member of the American band Led Zeppelin, Lancia Aurelia construction 1953, car Lorenzo Vandini (famous driver of Formula 1), the Cadillac Seville Gucci in 1979 with lounge designed by the House of Gucci, etc.

Museum of Cycladic Art

The Museum is dedicated to the ancient civilizations of the Aegean and Cyprus, with special emphasis on Cycladic Art of the 3rd millennium.
Presents three major cultural areas:  Cycladic art, Ancient Greek Art, Ancient Cypriot Art.

National Art Gallery

The National Gallery has around 10.000 paintings and prints which emphasize the emergence of Modern Greek art.
The first exhibits have been placed from the period of Ioannis Kapodistrias ( the first governor of Greece as a free state (1830) and then enriched by donations, mainly Western European painting projects.

Numismatic Museum

The Numismatic Museum recently renovated, is one of the few of its kind in the world.
The collections include 500,000 coins, dating from the 14th century until today. Covers the Ancient Greece, the Roman, Byzantium, the Western European Middle Ages and modern times.
